Meet Judge Amber K. Zibritosky

Judge Amber Zibritosky was elected to the bench in November of 2025 and started her first six-year term on January 1, 2026.  Prior to taking the bench, Judge Zibritosky served as the Stow Municipal Court’s Clerk of Courts, winning election in 2019 to a partial two-year term, and again in 2021 to a full six-year term.  Judge Zibritosky also served as Stow’s Law Director and Chief Prosecutor for five of the Court’s sixteen jurisdictions.  Judge Zibritosky was the first woman and youngest attorney elected to the position in the City’s history.   She also served the City of Stow as an Assistant and then Deputy Law Director before taking over as the Department Head.

Judge Zibritosky grew up in the court district and graduated from Hudson High School in 2003.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Miami University of Ohio in 2007 while also competing as a Redhawk on Miami’s Division I swim team.  Judge Zibritosky received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2010 from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and passed the Ohio bar exam in the same year.

As a career public servant, Judge Zibritosky has devoted her entire legal career to serving the communities of northern summit County.  As Clerk, she focused on improving court technology, streamlining administrative procedures, and strengthening citizens access to justice.  Some of her most proud accomplishments include obtaining grants to utilize text message notifications and accept e-tickets, creating self-help guides for litigants without attorneys, hosting a free sealing and expungement clinic at the court, and utilizing the Ohio Attorney General to collect outstanding fines and fees civilly.  Judge Zibritosky’s efforts as Clerk were recognized by the Akron Bar Association in 2025 when she was awarded Committee Chairperson of the Year for her work on the ABA’s Access to Justice Committee.  Judge Zibritosky also formerly served on the Summit County Facilities Governing Board for Community Based Correctional Facilities and the Summit County Criminal Justice Advisory Board.  Judge Zibritosky continues to serve on the Advisory Board for Oriana House and is very active with the Akron Bar Association.

Judge Zibritosky is also a resident of Stow and can be found on the soccer pitch cheering on her two children during her free time.
