… get a public defender?  Defendants that fail to request a public defender at their arraignment date have an opportunity to apply in person on Wednesday mornings between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM at the Stow Municipal Court.  Defendants making such a request must complete an Affidavit of Indigency and may be required to submit other information concerning their income and expenses.

The form will need to be signed in the presence of a deputy clerk, so do not sign the form until you are in the presence of a deputy clerk.

… file an answer?  Prepare your answer on an 8 ½” x 11” piece of paper.  Always include the court name, the case caption (plaintiff and defendant name), the case number and your response to the lawsuit in writing.  Also include a statement at the end of the document following your signature certifying that you sent a copy of the Answer to each Plaintiff and to all other Defendants, and a date those copies were sent.

You have 28 days after you receive summons and Complaint to answer.  The Answer is filed with the Clerk of Court.  There is no filing fee to file an answer.
